Match Preview: Chivas U.S.A. vs. Union 7/3/2010
By: unclebp | June 29th, 2010On Saturday July 3, 2010 the Philadelphia Union will travel to Chivas U.S.A.’s Home Depot Center in Los Angeles, California to play in a football match.  It’s not quite clear to me exactly what a ‘Union’ is, or how it could possibly play soccer.  One definition has the word Union as the act of making or becoming a single unit.  Take that information and combine it with their opponents, who seem to be goats, and then throw in some Jabulani balls and boy is that a great night in Los Angeles.
Regarding goats…

Really this must be how the supporters of Chivas U.S.A. feel after their matches right now. Â Pay good money to go to a match, get devoured by a huge man (or men as the case may be), have your bones stacked up neatly next to a smouldering campfire, then wake up the next day, miraculously whole, only to repeat the process a few days later at the next match. Groundhog day style, deja vu inducing, all you can stomach, losing.
Now this is where thing get confusing.  Chivas’ next match is against the Philadelphia Union.  Surely an expansion team and fellow cellar dweller will stop the losing streak.  However, the Union are fresh off their sound beating of the Seattle Sounders in their squeaky clean, brand new stadium.  They also happen to have the same name as Chivas’ supporters club the Union Ultras. Will the Ultras be confused by rooting against half of themselves?  They seem to be distracted by the Vuvuzela call of the world cup to begin with, not having updated their website for a month or so (it’s the middle of the season guys). Personally I am excited to see two last place teams duke it out for super-last place.  Who wouldn’t want to see some goat union action? (sorry, couldn’t resist).  We’ll have more on the upcoming match tomorrow.

actually we don’t see anyone else updating their websites… Its probably the most up to date one from all the MLS supporter group! Thanks for checking up on it though..
